Tips for HD Downloads
- 1
Final resolution depends on the original video uploaded by the seller. Most Shopee sellers upload in 720p.
- 2
HD videos take up more space. A 30-second 720p video can be 5 to 15 MB.
- 3
For the best visual experience, watch HD videos on a larger screen like a tablet or computer.
- 4
If the video appears low quality, the seller may have uploaded it in a lower resolution.
- 5
With the premium plan, you can select your desired quality before downloading.
How Shopee handles video resolution
When a seller uploads a video, Shopee produces versions at more than one resolution so the player can pick one that suits the viewer's connection. On a phone with mobile data, the player often plays a smaller version. That is why the video seen in the app sometimes looks worse than the downloaded file. The downloader skips the adaptive versions and fetches the highest resolution available.
The ceiling is always the original upload. A video recorded at 720p does not become 1080p. Many sellers record with their own phone in portrait at 1080 by 1920, and that is what you receive. Older videos, from before the platform's current short-video push, tend to be 480p or 720p. There is no way to know the resolution before downloading, but file size gives a hint: 30-second 1080p videos usually exceed 10 MB.
- Output format: MP4 with H.264 and AAC audio, no re-encoding.
- Resolution: the highest the seller published, up to 1080p.
- Frame rate: same as the original, typically 30 fps.
How to check that the file is HD
On Windows, right-click the file, choose Properties, and open the Details tab. Frame width and height appear under Video. On Mac, select the file in Finder and press Cmd+I. On Android, open the video in Files by Google and tap Info. On iPhone, the Photos app shows the resolution when you swipe up on the video.
If the result is smaller than expected, the limit is at the source. Check whether the seller has another listing of the same product with a newer video. Official brand stores tend to publish at higher resolution than small resellers. Product listings with several videos may also mix resolutions, since each clip is uploaded separately. Try the link again after the seller updates the listing, and the downloader will pick up the newer file.
Who this page is for
This page is for people who need to see fine detail: stitching on clothing, the finish on an electronic device, the texture of a cosmetic. It also helps anyone watching on a large screen, where compression from a small version becomes obvious. If you only want the video on your phone to rewatch later, any resolution will do and the general guide is enough.
The high-resolution video still belongs to the seller. Downloading it to evaluate a purchase is personal use. Reposting or using it in commercial material should only happen with permission from the creator. Affiliates should follow the Shopee affiliate program rules.
